The Poison Center Collaborative (PCC) is a pioneering initiative led by HAPSA Nepal, aimed at addressing one of the most under-recognized yet critical public health issues in Nepal—poisoning and toxic exposures.

About Dhulikhel Hospital Poison Information Center

The Dhulikhel Hospital Poison Information Center (DH-PIC) was inaugurated on [insert date]. It is a collaborative initiative between the National Poisons Control Centre (PCC) and the Emergency Department of Dhulikhel Hospital, established with the aim of strengthening poison  management services in Nepal.

PIC Framework

About Poison Information Center (PIC), Department of Clinical Toxicology, TUTH

Poison Information Center (PIC- TUTH) was the first institution-based poison center that was established through leadership and support provided by Brown Emergency Medicine's faculty development grant, and collaboration of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, along with ASK Foundation. The Nepal-PIC was inaugurated on 7th December 2023 by the Honourable Health Minister of Nepal with a special message from the Prime Minister of Nepal.

This collaboration combined resources, expertise, and support to ensure the successful operation and sustainability of Nepal-PIC. Nepal-PIC operates from the Department of Clinical Pharmacology at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu. It employed three trained Specialists in Poison Information (SPIs) and used to provide 24/7 hotline provides immediate poison information services to healthcare providers in Nepal.
